What is Medicare Urgent Care Clinic

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) are designed to alleviate the pressure on hospitals EDs by providing local residents with more options to see healthcare professionals for urgent but non-life-threatening needs. For routine and non-urgent healthcare needs, you should visit your regular GP.

What We Can Treat

Minor illnesses

Including respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections. 

Minor injuries

Including closed fractures, simple lacerations, simple eye injuries and minor burns. 

Procedures

Wound management, Incision and drainage of abscesses, Basic fracture management, Removal of foreign bodies. 

Gosnells UCCs is intended to provide short term, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening.

Gosnells Medicare Urgent Care Clinic provides bulk billed healthcare, which means you don't have to pay out of pocket fees for health services.

It is free to get treatment at a Medicare UCC, but you will need to bring your Medicare card

Yes, we are a walk-in clinic only. 

 

No, we don't offer telehealth appointments, our services are available to patients present for a face-to-face consultations only.

We will not provide replacement for lost, stolen or destroyed prescriptions or prescription for Schedule 8 Drugs.  

  • Urgent care is needed when you require medical attention for an illness or injury that can be managed without a trip to the emergency department but cannot wait for a regular GP appointment.

  • If you go to a Gosnells Medicare UCC with a routine or non-urgent health condition, the clinic may refer you to a local GP or medical practice.

  • If you believe you need emergency care, do not visit a Gosnells Medicare UCC. Instead, call triple zero or go directly to the nearest emergency department.

Your GP should be your first point of contact for non-emergency, routine preventive care. This includes general screening health checks, vaccinations, mental health plans, family planning, standard referrals for scans, specialists care or chronic disease management or preventative health procedures such as cervical screening tests.
